Job Requirements:
The ideal family pastor for this position should be a man with a deep love for Jesus Christ and His people; someone with a passion to disciple all ages of children and their families; a man with a vision to expand the breadth and relevance of the age-graded ministries of the church; a man who understands the importance of discipleship and biblical literacy; a man who is able to thrive in a team environment; and a man who is able to connect well with all ages of people.

General Expectations:
• Lead, by example, the disciplined Christian life exhibited by an exemplar attitude, a vibrant personal devotional life, personal evangelism, and a love for Jesus.
• Recruit, develop, mentor and schedule volunteers to accomplish the work of the ministries under your care.
• Cultivate an atmosphere of camaraderie and teamwork with everyone involved in the ministry.
• Set the example of servant leadership by leading in a way that demonstrates humility and the willingness to do what he asks others to do.
• Set the example of excellence by doing his best and expecting the best from everyone else.
• Provide pastoral care, as needed, including weekends.
• Coordinate a proposed budget for approval of the Finance Committee and administer same.
• Be faithful to the Word of God and the Baptist Faith and Message.
 
Expectations
• Organize and lead the nursery, kids-town, students, college/career and young adult ministries of the church under the supervision of, and in cooperation with, the Senior Pastor.
• Recruit and oversee the appropriate lay ministry directors and volunteers to accomplish this very important work (Ex: Nursery, Preschool, Sunday School, Children’s Sunday School, Kids Worship, Mid-Week Children’s Program, Vacation Bible School, etc.)
• Plan and coordinate camps, retreats, mission trips, and summer programs. Work with the staff and volunteer leaders in scheduling events.
• Develop a mentoring program that can help students as they transition from children, to students, to college / career, and to adulthood.
• Provide vision and direction for the intentional discipleship of all the children entrusted to this ministry.
• Coordinate a calendar of ministry activities that will foster evangelistic opportunities, positive peer group development, spiritual growth, and fun events for all ages under this position.
• Cultivate a ministry culture that encourages parent involvement in every facet of the ministry.
